Gateway to Dunk Island - it's in it's own little hideaway off the main road and is enveloped by Tropical Rainforest. It is considered the Jewel of the Cassowary Coast. Mission Beach is 14 kilometres of magnificent golden sandy beaches with "Dunk Island" only a ferryboat ride away. Surrounded by National Park and World Heritage Listed Reef and Rainforest, Mission Beach is simply the closest thing to heaven on earth. Offshore there are a group of amazing Islands that includes "Dunk Island" as well as "Beddara" and "Timana" Islands, and just a little south is the largest Island National Park in the world, "Hinchinbrook Island". The Great Barrier Reef is only 38 kms away making Mission Beach the closest access to the Reef. |
